cPanel: Group ownership become ID?

Today I found that one account having weird error.

Error:
1) The group ownership became an ID and the site is unable to load as in valid group.
2) Where try chown the folder, it will return “invalid user” error

Solution:

1) check if the group ownership is correct, it wrong as below, please continue step (2)

2) open /etc/group and add in USER:x:GROUP:

For the screen shot case, add it as ipless:x:512:

3) /etc/gshadow and add in USER:!::

For the screen shot case, add it as ipless:!::

Done and the group permission will correct automatically.

SQL Server Management Studio 2008, ERROR: 916

For the SQL Server Management Studio 2008, accessing data in restricted databases causing a failure to populate Object Explorer and Object Explroer Details, you will receive error as below

Well it was a bug for the SQL Server Management Studio 2008, as show here

The solution as below: 

(1) Open SQL Server Management Studio 2008

(2) Connect to the database server as normal

(3) Press F7 to open the “Object Explorer Details” window or click “View” >> “Object Explorer Details”

(4) In the object explorer details window expand by double click on “Databases”

(5) Right click on the header bar (“Name”, “Policy health state”, “Recovery Model”, etc)

(6) Deselect “Collation” from the menu that will pop up

(7) From the object explorer, refresh the “Databases”

Now you can see all the database.

Note: The  bug has been fixed for new release SQL Server 2008R2

For the user that use the Linux, it will be important to know where is the history log file need to check

Are you ready for outlook.com, a replacement of Hotmail?

On Aug 1, we know that the interface of the hotmail have change. But behind the story is Microsoft is in the process of killing-off its much maligned Hotmail web-based email and replacing it with Outlook.com. Wow, is that a big news?

Well, myself have important @hotmail account, do it will terminated in future? So far, no one have answer on it. But for precaution step, it better to create a Outlook alias

(1) log into the outlook.com by your @hotmail.com account
(2) click on the settings > More mail settings
(3) Select the Create a Outlook alias
(4) and create an account @ outlook.com

it will auto link to your hotmail account and the coolest thing is, when you send mail, you still have selection where you can select either @hotmail.com or outlook.com

Grap yourself a username ASAP, I know it “selling fast” 🙂
